Do you recycle materials from individuals?

No, currently we only work with companies.

When you sell your precious metal scrap, selling directly to an educated buyer is always better than going through a middleman. Selling directly to Core Scientific eliminates paying a middleman to appraise your metals and all the guesswork that comes with that. We give you higher returns because we pay you for all the precious metals in your materials.

How do I reach my account manager?

How do I get access to my customer portal?

After you send in your materials, you will receive an email with all the information to access our customer portal.

How do I reset my customer portal password?

You can reset your password by clicking here, or by reaching out to us directly.

How will I receive my assay report?

After we have processed your materials, we will send you an email with your detailed assay report. You will also have 24/7 access to view your shipment details and account history within our customer portal.

REFINING MY METALS

How long does it take to refine my material?

To ensure the highest quality refining service, each different type of material that we handle follows its own unique refining process that can range anywhere from 1 to 20 business days to complete. 

What types of precious metals can be refined?

Gold and silver are the most commonly refined precious metals, but others, such as platinum and palladium, can also be refined for a good return.

Do you purchase dental gold and silver?

Yes, we buy all dental scrap containing precious metals, including dental gold, platinum, silver, and palladium.

As a dental professional, what dental scrap can I recycle with you?

We accept crowns, bridges, and PFMs. We do NOT accept amalgam/pellets, traps, x-ray backing (lead), separators, instruments, rhodium, non-metallic scrap, and needles.

As a dental professional, how should I prepare my dental scrap to be sent?

We will send you a free container to collect all your metal. Clean and dry your dental scrap before sending it with our free shipping label. This ensures the safety of our refiners and quicker processing. 

Do I have to separate dental metals from other metals?

No, you do not need to separate your dental metals from other materials. If you would like to separate your metals prior to sending them to us, you can request two containers. Keep in mind that alloys in dental material may differ from the other forms of metal scrap you send in .ie. karat scrap.

Do you recycle silver-plated items?

Yes, we recycle silver-plated material. Please contact your account manager or Core Scientific directly to learn more. 

How long does it take to get my payment?

Depending on where you are located payment could take 1 to 6 days to arrive by mail, we ask that you allow up to 10 business days. 

Is my precious metal safe?

Yes. We take the safety of your materials seriously and our whole facility is equipped with a video surveillance system. We melt, process, and assay your material in our secure, on-site facility. Our checks and balances ensure your material is safeguarded every step of the way.

How do you value my precious metals?

To determine the value of your precious metal we perform fire assay with ICP and atomic absorption technology, which can measure in parts per billion, ensuring that we are paying for every bit of your precious metal. We then value it based on the market price.

How do I get paid for my precious metals?

Our main forms of payment are Check or Bank Transfer. To learn more about our other forms of payment, please contact your account manager or reach out to us directly. 

Is there a minimum amount of material I need before sending in my material for processing?

We do not have a minimum quantity requirement however there are minimum charges, please contact your account manager or Core Scientific directly to learn more.

Does the fluctuating price of metals affect my settlement?

Yes, we determine the quantity of metals present in your lot and then value it according to the current market price at the time processing is complete.

Do you offer stone removal services?

Yes, we offer our stone removal service for our karat lots, a small fee is associated with each lot. Stone removal is processed using a method known as “Aqua-Regia.” This specialized process ensures the safe separation of most diamonds and precious gemstones without any risk of damage or loss. If you are interested in our stone removal service, please reach out to your account manager or contact us directly. 

Do I have to fill out an AML form?

An Anti-Money Laundering (AML) form is required when engaging in transactions involving precious metals. This requirement is mandated by regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering laws and regulations. Generally, you may be required to fill out an AML form when conducting transactions such as buying or selling precious metals, particularly in significant amounts. For specific questions regarding our AML Program, please contact your designated account manager.

Can I use my own container?

Yes. If you currently have your material in a container other than the one provided by Core Scientific, send it in!

Shipping Questions

How long will it take for my material to arrive at Core Scientific?

We are located in Cary, IL. Depending on where you are located shipping could take 1 – 6 days, we ask that you allow up to 10 business days for your material to arrive at our facility. You can always reach out to your account manager or contact us directly for a better time frame.

How do I send in my material?

You can request a shipping container by contacting us or filling out the Request a Container form online. Once you’ve packaged your container, contact Core Scientific to schedule a pickup. We coordinate the pickup for you, and cover all shipping costs!

Do you ship outside of the United States?

We ship anywhere in North America.

How do I get a new shipping label?

You can request a new shipping label through your customer portal, or you can contact your account manager or Core Scientific directly.

What do I do if the weight on my label is different from the weight of the actual package?

We ask that you contact your account manager for a new shipping label via email.

How do I schedule a pickup?

You can Schedule a Pickup through your customer portal, or you can contact your account manager or Core Scientific directly.

Do I have to be present during the pickup?

No. If you plan not to be present, we ask that you make sure our shipping carrier can easily access your package when they come by.

Where can I drop off my material?

You can drop off your package at any carrier location, as long as it matches the shipping carrier on the label provided. We would prefer to handle this part for you!

Can you send my payment to a different address than my shipping address?

Yes, we can! Please let your account manager know before we process your payment.

How do I get a replacement container?

You can request a new container through our online form or your customer portal, or you can contact your account manager or Core Scientific directly.

How do I know when my material arrives at Core Scientific?

We will send you customer portal access when it arrives at our refinery and material updates throughout the whole refining process.
