How can you Capitalize on Your Dental Scrap Material?

Earn more by doing this 1 thing!

The only way you can truly capitalize on your dental scrap material is to send it into a refinery. Many dealers or cash buyers say they provide the most accurate value of your material but they are WRONG! The only way to get the true value of this material is through a fire assay procedure done in a laboratory. This process extracts the most precious metals from the dental scrap and evaluates its value.

Many dentists are unaware that they are getting 50% to even 150% less for their dental scrap – when they choose a cash buyer. Make the better decision; choose a refinery for your dental scrap material.

Can you sell PFM crowns?

Selling PFM Crowns

YES! You can definitely get paid for porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns. Some dental offices believe they can’t sell PFM’s so they either throw them away or give them to a “cash buyer” for pennies on the dollar.

Sadly, these crowns can be worth a lot of money. A refinery, like Core Scientific, will process these crowns using their advanced, cutting-edge laboratory to extract the most precious metals from the crowns.

We have worked with Dental offices that received a few dollars for these crowns. However once they collected and shipped to Core Scientific they received a refund 100 times more (yes, that’s right….100 X MORE, if not more) than their previous refund.

Send in your PFM crowns to Core Scientific and receive the highest return. Stop getting a few couple dollars for this material, and get A LOT more!

Can you sell gold crowns?

dental scrap, dental fillings

YES, you can definitely sell gold crowns. However, the value of your return depends on whom you sell your gold crowns to. Many dental offices will sell their gold crowns to a “cash buyer” or the person who comes into the office. These individuals will give them a couple hundred dollars for the material, however, it’s worth lot more. This may seem like a lot for this material, but you are getting paid much less than you should be.

Why is that? Well, a cash buyer is giving you a refund based on their “guesstimate” of the gold value in your gold crowns. The crowns may consist of 14 Karat or even less. These cash buyers will give you money based on the lowest karat amount. This way they can still get their share. It’s difficult to know the exact karat amount without a laboratory. That is why you should collect this material and send to a refinery with an on-site laboratory – like Core Scientific.

At Core Scientific, we will provide you with the highest competitive return in the industry for your gold crowns. Stop getting a few couple dollars for this material, and get A LOT more! What is Precious Metal Refining?

Precious Metal Refining is an art form that dates back to Ancient Rome.

The classic fire assay process that is used for refining precious metals is the gold standard (no pun intended) method in the industry.

With a fire assay, precious metals such as gold and silver are separated from non-precious metals by fusion. When performed properly it has an accuracy of 1 part in 10,000.

Core Scientific goes a step further than the classic fire assay with their multi-step process:

  • Initial screening of your material
  • Primary melt
  • Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) – Mass Spectrometry.

Other materials like platinum, palladium, and low-grade materials need to go through a separate process ICP (inductively coupled plasma). In a nutshell, ICP ionizes the sample to isolate certain ions and identify them.

The benefit of working with a refinery that uses these cutting-edge, proven methods is they extract the most precious metals from your material. When you start to work with a refinery it is important that you find out if the refinery has an on-site laboratory. This is crucial as many “refineries” outsource the refining of the material. This equates to less money for you in the end.

What is Dental Scrap?

Dental scrap consists of the precious metal materials in dental sweeps, gold, silver, platinum and palladium crowns, bridges as well as porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crowns, inlays, on lays and caps.

Dentists, oral surgeons, and periodontist generate this material through dental extractions and other dental procedures in their work. Precious metals are quite common in dental extractions, and very valuable if collected.

By collecting this material, dental offices can generate an additional source of income to be used on new equipment, customer benefits, or employee perks – to name a few. We have talked to dental offices that have thrown away this material in the past, and now getting thousands instead.

It’s easy to get started with collecting dental scrap. All you need to do is contact us at 877.308.2388 or via email at Melissa@core-scientific.com to request a FREE collection container and shipping label.

We will provide you with the highest, most competitive return in the industry. Unlike the person that comes into your office, we can process and extract the most precious metal from your dental scrap. Which basically means you GET MORE on your refund.

Tips for Shipping Your Dental Scrap

4 Do’s and 1 Don’t For Shipping Your Dental Scrap Materials

Shipping your material to a refinery should not be a difficult process. You should be able to rely on your refiner to provide the logistics of your material to make sure it is securely and properly received.

Here are 4 Tips for Shipping Your material:

  1. Do ensure that your material is shipped in a secure and marked plastic container. Our collection containers contain non-specific labels, which means no one will be aware of it contents. It is sturdy with a secure top for shipping.
  2. Do include a packing slip and label on all containers. When we provide you with a collection container we include a return label for your convenience. Simply contact us when you are ready to ship or alternatively we can create scheduled monthly or quarterly scheduled pickups.
  3. Do track your shipment. Every shipment will contain a tracking number. Make sure to keep this tracking number handy so you can refer to it if needed.
  4. Do weigh your material. It’s very important that you weigh your material. Read more here about why you should weigh your material.

DON’T work with a refinery that does not provide you with paperwork on the receiving weight. We’ve heard many refiners do not provide paperwork on the weight of what was used and processed. Protecting yourself is important.
